The Flipped Classroom method in law education
Jurisprudence 6/2021 Section: Articles Page: 34-40
Keywords: Flipped Classroom method, legal education, interactive teaching, distance learning
Abstract: The article focuses on the increasingly popular Flipped Classroom method of teaching, which many university teachers have recently begun to use in an effort to minimize the negatives of distance education. The author first describes the basic principles of the Flipped Classroom and summarizes its strengths and weaknesses, which he then illustrates using a specific course, Sociology for Lawyers, taught at the Faculty of Law, Charles University, in the summer semester of 2021. The author also shows how to successfully use this method not only in seminars for a small number of students, but also in a course for 200 students, whether taught as a distant or face-to-face course.
