Case law on discrimination under the Consumer Protection Act

Abstract: This article will focus on the prohibition of discrimination under the Czech Consumer Protection Act and on examples of the use of the prohibition of discrimination in punishing businesses under the Act. First, it discusses the concept of discrimination in general terms, it then looks at the specifics of discrimination under the Consumer Protection Act and the case law that has developed under the Act. Subsequently, it pays particular attention to discrimination against foreigners (the famous case of discrimination against Russians at the Brioni Hotel) and discrimination on the basis of age (the non-admission of children to certain restaurants and spas).
